Biological Effluent Pond Treatment:

Effluent Pond Treatment is a 100% natural, environmentally friendly, biological product that breaks down organic waste, reduces odours and restores effluent system efficiency. It contains naturally occurring beneficial bacteria that digest waste and other organic contaminants in a wide array of commercial, industrial and agricultural applications, including distilleries, breweries, polluted water and farm effluent ponds.

Treats Effluent Biologically
It provides a very effective biological alternative to chemicals and caustic solvents.
It biologically treats wastewater and effluent by using micro-organisms (bacteria), which multiply rapidly, to degrade organic waste naturally. This results in Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) reduction, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) reduction, and odour control. It also reduces nitrates, nitrites, ammonia and phosphate levels in the water.

The Bacteria Produce Enzymes

  • Provides a concentrated combination of micro-organisms to the wastewater and effluent.
  • As the bacteria metabolise, grow and divide, they produce enzymes that break down organic matter.
  • The bacteria are literally factories for the production of enzymes.

The Enzymes Break Down the Organic Matter

The enzymes break down the organic matter into water soluble nutrients, which the bacteria digest. The bacterial digestion process consumes the organic matter. Using complex chemical reactions, the organic waste is metabolised down to water and Carbon Dioxide, providing the bacteria with energy for growth and reproduction.
Because the organic waste is consumed by the bacteria, it is then no longer present to produce odours, sludge, pollution, or unsightly mess.

Increases the Bacteria Activity in the Effluent Ponds

Restores the beneficial bacteria population in the pond and increases the biological activity. The bacteria in effluent treatment “sense” the type of wastes around them. The bacteria release different enzymes automatically to attack the different types of waste. The bacteria produce their own enzymes, so the bacteria release more enzymes than a customer could ever afford to purchase when compared to an enzyme product. Some enzymes like fats, others like protein, still others like starches. Unlike bacteria, they do not reproduce because they aren’t alive. The basic distinction between enzymes and bacteria is that bacteria secrete enzymes to digest waste. Bacteria are living organisms, while enzymes are organic compounds.

Effluent Pond Treatment Removes Chemicals

The micro-organisms break down the farm chemicals and cleaning detergents into different forms, which are then made harmless or are consumed by the relevant micro-organisms. The smell disappears as the chemicals are consumed by the micro-organisms.

Ensures Effective Treatment of Organic Matter in Wastewater

Odours arise from a lack of oxygen and by the slow decay of organic matter in the water. The strong concentration of aerobic and anaerobic micro-organisms are very effective in breaking down organic matter in effluent system environments.

BENEFITS:

  • Restores effluent system efficiency and prevents future problems
  • Destroys odours at the source and prevents them from returning
  • Dissolves blockages
  • Improves BOD/COD removal
  • Reduction of suspended solids
  • Reduces sludge build-up
  • Enhances performance of effluent systems
  • Reduces system maintenance and costs
  • Breaks down a wide range of organic waste.
  • Compensates for use of harsh chemicals and sanitisers.
  • Non toxic and biodegradable
  • New Zealand made
  • Cost effective and easy to use.

Biological Effluent Pond Treatment

Available in 1L, 20L, 200L and 1,000L

Application Rate Guide:

Initial Treatment: 4 litres per 100m3 (100,000)

Second Treatment: (21 days after initial treatment) Add 2-4 litres per 100m3

Maintenance 2-3 times per year: Add 2 litres per 100m3

Pond Size Examples:

Pond Size: 20 x 25 x 2 meters = 1,000,000 litres = Initial Application Rate x 40 litres

Pond Size 25 x 50 x 3 metres = 3,750,000 litres = Initial Application Rate 150 litres

Pond Size 25 x 75 x 3 metres = 5,625,000 litres = Initial Application Rate 225 litres
